Hundreds of Stencils and Icons
PowerMockup's Stencil Library provides a wide range of templates for all the typical elements of a website or application: buttons, text boxes, menus, tabs, tables, etc. Using the Stencil Library is as easy as selecting an item and dragging it onto a PowerPoint slide. All stencils are based on regular PowerPoint shapes and fully editable.
A quick search function makes finding the right stencil an easy task. As you type, PowerMockup automatically filters the list of stencils until you get what you are looking for. It also looks for synonyms, so that a search for "Input" yields results including "Text Box" and "Text Area" stencils.
Your Own Stencils and Categories
PowerMockup lets you add your own items to the Stencil Library. Simply select a shape on a PowerPoint slide, click on "Add Stencil," and a custom stencil is created. Stencils can also be imported and exported, allowing you to share your creations with others.
PowerMockup provides additional functionality for its stencils that goes beyond what PowerPoint offers. For instance, when you resize the "Window" stencil, PowerMockup ensures that the window's title bar keeps the correct proportions. Some stencils also allow you to make quick changes, such as adding items to a tab bar or setting the state of a check box.
Leverages the Power of PowerPoint
PowerPoint's rich set of features makes it quite a good choice for creating wireframes:
- Powerful drawing tools for grouping, aligning and layering shapes.
- Great presentation and animation capabilities for building storyboards and basic interactive prototypes.
- Various import and export options (PDF, PNG, EMF, and many other formats).
- Support for master slides, making it possible to create reusable templates.
- Seamless integration with Word and other Microsoft Office apps.
Another major advantage of PowerPoint is its sheer presence, especially in the corporate world. Everybody knows PowerPoint and can instantly participate in the design process, regardless of whether they are business users, developers or other stakeholders.
